Açaí (pronounced ah-sigh-EE) is a small, dark purple fruit native to the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. Açaí berries are known for their rich, slightly tart flavour and are often touted as a "superfood" because of their high antioxidant content, particularly anthocyanins, which give the fruit its deep colour.
